roaches!

My roommate and I have been finding roaches in our apartment lately, and apparently a lot of people living near us have. But anyway, we have a system of getting rid of them but it generally involves her finding it even if I'm picking it up. But I was forward thinking and wondering if there's any kind of technique any of yall have used for locating/chasing roaches or other bugs since they move and what-not.

you can spray them, but usually, it's nothing to freak out/worry about.
they generally come from messy neighbors, and will disappear with time on their own.

Naw they stay if you don't get rid of them. The hatch every 28 days.
You can buy the roach motels and stick them around the place, that helps. Go to a home store for them, not your supper market.
Borox acid, I think I spelled it correctly, is a power you can put in places. It can stay in a line near the corners or back of the stove and such places, but if you have pets that might eat it it can't be used. It has no smell, and if you clean it up just apply new.
People bring them, so if you are having new people move in next door all the time that have them you'll have them if you don't put down stuff in your place to catch them.

They are nasty and multiply like crazy and can create unhealthy living conditions. I would think the landlord would be responsible for maintaining the building. I know businesses like restaurants are required to have inspections and regular maintanents by an exterminator.

Borox acid, is great to start using but you need to tell the land lord right away. They will send someone in to spray and keep telling them if the problem is not going away. They might have to bomb the place which is a pain to go through but well worth it.

You can use hotels and things, they do work but with you living in an apartment, you really need to tell the landlord because if you have them then so does someone else and the bugs aren't going to go away completely untill the others rid of them too. The landlord will need to treat the whole building.

ugh. Nooo!! Roaches don't go away on their own. I never had them but I've heard first hand experiences from people who have... Messy neighbors are one thing, but you need to make sure you're not messy yourself. Call the landlord or whatever's in charge, but also make sure to be diligent about getting rid of garbage promptly, especially if the garbage contains remnents of food. good luck.

I have not had this issue, but if I ever do, (and not just with roaches but bugs in general), what is both safe to use with dogs or other pets in the home, and effective at killing whatever pest might be lurking around? That goes for mice too. Sorry for the slight change in subject, just taking things in a slightly different direction.

I must have been lucky that they went away on their own. sorry for not clarifying that fact.
when living in an apartment complex, though, I'd think maintenence is in charge of such things; not a landlord/lady. so, get in touch with maintance people, or ask leasing office staff to have it taken care of.

maintence, rather.
and, yes, I've had this problem before.

Get a cat if your landlord doesn't object.
